Food Bank needs community’s help

I am writing to plead with the community to please help our local food bank. I have been a volunteer for The Food Bank of Nevada County for more than 15 years.

This summer we fed more than 250 children a day, a relatively new program for us. We are providing only healthy snacks for these youngsters, so if any of you have extra fruit from your trees or vegetables from your garden, please drop it by. We will put it to good use! And of course, monetary donations are always welcome and help us purchase the juice, milk, vegetables and healthy snacks we feed these youngsters.

We’re also in desperate need of paper bags! We use these to distribute food to our clients, so instead of throwing yours out, you can drop them off at The Food Bank and we’ll put them to good use.

Thank you for caring.
