Folk music not to miss

Rich harmonies that tug at the heart and lyrics that make you think – that’s what I think of when I contemplate the music of Paul Kamm and Eleanore MacDonald.

A friend of mine, Nory Fussell, who is a musician himself, said “I love their music – the songwriting, impeccable harmonies, their presence on stage – its all very much a reflection of who they are as people; honest, intelligent, accessible and very, very giving.”

Kamm and MacDonald have been singing and writing music together for 26 years and are well-known locally – not only for their music but also for their selfless sharing: They show up for community fundraisers. But tonight it’s all for them.

They will be joined by their old friend, Nina Gerber. Said Kamm, “We haven’t done a show with guitar wizard Nina Gerber in Nevada City in many years, so this will be a big time for us.”

So, all in all, this is an intimate evening that will produce memories.

It’s taking place at Miners Foundry on Spring Street in Nevada City. Door open at 7, with music beginning an hour later. General admission is $18. Buy tickets at Gold Rush Records, BriarPatch, Record Connection and Cherry Records.
