Florence McCoy

A Mass of Christian burial for Florence J. McCoy will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Assumption, 1100 Fulton Ave. in San Leandro. Burial will be at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Hayward.

Mrs. McCoy died Thursday, July 25, in Grass Valley. She was 91.

She was born March 27, 1911, in Novinger, Mo., to Edward Hillings and Ellen Fogarty. She married Charles H. McCoy in 1934 at St. Leander’s Church in San Leandro.



She was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Leander’s Mothers’ Guild and St. John’s Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening and Trivia games.

She is survived by her sons James D. McCoy of Seattle and Matthew McCoy of Grass Valley; daughters Ellen Crosby and Marilyn Hart, both of Grass Valley; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. McCoy; and son Tim McCoy.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels.
