Florence Boom

Graveside services Florence M. Boom of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Boom died Thursday, Oct. 24, in Grass Valley. She was 87.

She was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Forest City to William and Hildagard Penberthy. She was raised and attended school in Forest City. She married Earl Boom on Jan. 27, 1934, in Reno. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Earl Boom of Grass Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Walter and Kathy Boom of Lincoln, Donald and Judy Boom of Grass Valley, Robert and Cathy Boom of Nevada City, and David and Nelita Boom of Grass Valley; sisters Enid Winegarden of Federal, Wash., Rosella Wheeler of Salmon, Idaho, and Emma Jacobs of Spokane, Wash.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Josephine Clausen; and brother, Calvin Penberthy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
