Five things you need to know about ‘Mo’ Jazz: 50 Years of Jazz Art’

1. It’s an exhibit of photographs and paintings of jazz art, the reception for which takes place Monday, April 1, at Flying Hare Gallery, 102 Mill St. (upstairs) in Grass Valley, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

2. Members of the Grass Valley Graphics Group will show original jazz art paintings and theatrical backdrops they have done for such jazz greats as Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Brubeck, Nancy Wilson and Toots Thielemans, as well as never-before-seen photos. Original paintings for sale.

3. Live music by Bill Douglass, Isaac James, Borrina Mapaka, Ethan Lewis, Grace Fae and Friends.

4. It’s free.
