Five featured in first Del Sol guitar festival

Guitarists Brandon Yip, Mimi Fox, Peppino D’Agostino, and Adam and Laila del Monte will be featured Saturday in the first Del Sol Summer Guitar Festival.

The picnic concert, which benefits community radio station KVMR, will be at and hosted by Indian Springs Vineyards, 16110 Indian Springs Road in Penn Valley.

Yip plays classical guitar and is a silver medal winner in the Portland International Guitar Competition. Fox is a jazz composer. D’Agostino is a composer and plays steel string guitar. The del Montes are a flamenco duo; he won first place in the 1997 Stotsenberg International Classical Guitar Competition and she was in the movie “Soledad.”



Admission is $30 general and $25 for KVMR members and Indian Springs Vineyards’ Wine Club members.

Tickets are at the KVMR office, Indian Springs Vineyard Tasting Room, Yabobo and Herb Shop Records in Nevada City; BriarPatch and Record Connection in Grass Valley; and at the gate in Penn Valley.
