Fireworks pose major threat

As firework stands are starting to pop up around town I was wondering, with over 400 fires started Saturday, June 21, by a few lightening strikes, how can anyone justify the selling of fireworks at this time of year.

A few months ago, there was a letter written by Colleen Klatt explaining the danger of fireworks during the summer. She didn’t stop there. She offered an excellent alternative for clubs and schools to still be able to raise money. Sell fireworks for the New Year celebration. What a great idea. The right time of year – winter.

But do you know what? No one listened. What good did her excellent suggestion do? Who are these people making dangerous decisions? If a fire breaks out I want to see them on the frontline fighting the fire. It’s only fair.
