Fire plan meeting Tuesday in Nevada City

A public forum on the community’s fire plan will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada City City Hall, presented by the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Nevada County.

A panel discussion will be held on how to avert catastrophic wildfire with time for questions and concerns from the public included.

The panel members include:



– Kathleen Edwards, Nevada County Deputy Fire Marshal, who will give an update on the fire plan.

– Joanne Drummond, Executive Director of the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County, who will talk about prioritizing fire safety projects.




– Warren Knox, chairman of the Federation of Neighborhood Association’s Fire Committee on how neighborhoods can take action to prevent wildfire.
