Fire near Birchville under control

A fire Monday evening near the Birchville area burned 2.5 acres, but threatened no homes before being contained later that night.

Initially reported at 6:15 p.m., and by Birchville and Pleasant Valley Roads, the fire was contained by 7:25 p.m.



Responding to the fire were units from the North San Juan Fire Protection District and the California Department of Forestry.
