Fire danger in our community

Due to the prompt response and our call for help, the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District as well as the CalFire prevented the spread of a grass fire on our property here in Grass Valley. The blaze was limited to about two acres.

Homes were threatened and we were spared that heartache due to the firefighters’ quick action in coming to our rescue. Their courage and dedication does not go unnoticed.

We encourage this community to be very alert to fire danger this 2008 season due to drought. We have learned the hard way some very important lessons from this experience.

It is with a grateful heart that we pay tribute to all the “good guys.”
