Sierra City Fine Arts Gallery announces its grand opening with the show “Four Photographers and a Mad Potter.” The show features the work of photographers Darby Hayes, Dee Wallace, Kathy Chow and Mark Stevenson, one of only 24 artists in the state to be chosen in 2005 for the California State Senate’s Contemporary Art Collection; and potter Marty Flora.

A small, quiet gold rush-era town, Sierra City is located 12 miles east of Downieville on scenic Highway 49 and is situated on the North Yuba River.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Gallery hours are noon to 6 Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays through Mondays.

Sierra City Fine Arts Gallery is located in the historic red brick Busch Building, 231 Main St., Sierra City (530) 862-0607.
