Few extra cents a day

The population of Nevada County is increasing as well as aging. Along with these changing demographics come the demands for professional emergency services.

Are we willing to pay pennies per day now by voting for the $30 per year replacement special fire benefit assessment or some future lump sum as we rebuild our burned out homes or while rebuilding our lives because a love one died when they could have been saved by a more rapid response to a heart attack or a vehicle accident?

To me the replacement special fire benefit assessment is a practical and cost effective approach to supporting the firefighters of Nevada County Consolidated Fire District much like we should be doing for our sons and daughters fighting overseas. Without our support they cannot do their job helping to protect us and our lovely Nevada County 24/7.

Please vote and spend the few extra cents a day needed to protect our lives, property and economy for the years to come. And if you don’t like how the money is being spent at a later time then attend a NCCFD board meeting and give the directors a piece of your mind.
