Fern Scribner

The following is being reprinted to include information about services being held today:

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City for Fern Scribner of Grass Valley. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Mrs. Scribner died June 9. She was 91.



She was born March 17, 1913, in Mullan, Idaho, to Whitney Earl Decker and Nannie Fern Jessen. She graduated from high school in Mullan and was married Jan. 12, 1932, to Harold Scribner in Wallace, Idaho. She was married for 65 years.

Mrs. Scribner worked as a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and cooking.




She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and daughters Colleen Joan and Nancy Kay.

Mrs. Scribner is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ray Barnes of Modesto; son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Ethel Scribner of Elk Grove; daughter, Karen Holt of Nevada City; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Foothills in Grass Valley.
