Feeling fortunate for health care insurance coverage

In 2006 I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I had a lobectomy to remove part of my right lung. I was one of the lucky people who have health insurance. I am covered through Medicare and a supplemental coverage through AARP.

I am now going into my fourth year of being cancer free. I feel so blessed to have insurance when I know that so many people do not have any coverage or cannot afford coverage.

We are incredibly close to passing real health care reform. I stand with President Obama in calling on Congress to finish the job.
