Falcons fly into finals

GALT ” With a standing ovation congratulating their triumph, the Forest Lake

Christian Falcons beat No. 1 seed Sierra Christian 79-61 in the boys

Division V semifinal of the Sac-Joaquin section tournament.

It’s coach David Thomas’ first opportunity to guide the Falcons in the

section title which will be played against the winner of Big Valley

Christian-Brookside Christian game that is being decided later tonight. The

winner will face the Falcons on 5:30 p.m. Friday at Arco Arena.

The Falcons had four players in double figures scoring, with Josh Ritchart

leading the way with 24 points, Ben Sparling with 17, Austin Maynard with 15

and Andrew Ritchart with 14.

Pierce Azarcon added eight points for the No. 4 seed Falcons, who extended

their winning streak to eight games.

Earlier today, FLC’s fifth-seed Lady Falcons fell to top-seed Bradshaw Christian 55-42 in their Division V section semifinal at Galt High School.
