As if the ongoing carnival rides, the cute and not-so-cute animals, tempting food delicacies, and thousands of competitions highlighting area residents aren’t enough, the Nevada County Fair offers an ongoing array of free entertainment, especially on the Pine Tree and Art Center stages.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to midnight daily through Sunday.

From mid-morning to close, bluegrass, good ole rock ‘n’ roll, women’s barbershop music, karaoke and everything in between will be presented.

Many of the performers are regulars to Nevada County audiences, including the Tommyknocker Cloggers, the Nevada County Concert Band (one show Sunday at 3 p.m.) and Past Due and Playable.

For a complete entertainment schedule, check out http://www.nevadacountyfair.com.

Or call the fair office at 273-6217 for more information.

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children ages 5 and under. Parking at Gate 4 is $3.

A free shuttle leaves the Nevada Union High School Parking lot off Ridge Road daily for the fair grounds every half-hour starting at 8:30 a.m. The last shuttle returns to the school at 11:30 p.m.

The Nevada County Fairgrounds is at 11228 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley.
