Excellent work

Bruce Conklin’s accomplishments in restoration include the Miners’ Foundry, St. Joseph’s Cultural Center and some excellent work on the North Star House project. He has promoted parks in developing areas such as Loma Rica to keep our spirits and our property values high.

He’s spearheaded funds for a skate park for kids. Working with the superintendent of schools, he helped create after-school recreation programs. He restored funding for senior fix-it programs that allow residents to continue living in their homes, helped the libraries, the Nevada County airport and raised morale and working conditions at the County.

He has faced tremendous, even shameful unfairness from editors of The Union, with his trademark of equanimity and clarity. Those of us who know Bruce are proud of his integrity, energy and commitment.
