Sean Manchester’s GoFundMe Page surpasses $100,000

A GoFundMe page established after the death of Sean Manchester, director of special education and director of pupil services at the Nevada Joint Union High School District, has more than doubled its fundraising goal.

The desired amount of $50,000 was exceeded, totaling $108,000 in seven days since the page’s creation.

Dan Frisella, a friend and colleague of Manchester, created the fundraiser to help Manchester’s family.

“We were pleasantly surprised with the outpouring of support,” said Frisella, who works as the assistant superintendent for the Nevada Joint Union High School District. The assistant superintendent gave thanks to the many donors who didn’t know Manchester, but still wanted to be helpful.

Frisella and Manchester have been friends for over 20 years. Over time, their families grew close.

“Sean is a significant part of every corner of my life,” said Frisella. “We’ve experienced almost everything in our adult life together.”

For now, Frisella and Manchester’s family have no intention of closing the fundraiser.

“We hope to keep that open for anyone that wants to contribute,” he said.
