Evelyn Windhaus

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary for Evelyn Windhaus. Services will be officiated by Pastor Andy Owens.

Mrs. Windhaus died Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Penn Valley. She was 69.

She was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Baltimore, Md., to George and Alice Sauer. She was a high school graduate. She married Eugene Windhaus on April 27, 1956, in Maryland. She was a secretary for 30 years, most recently for the City of San Jose. She was a member of a computer club, and bowled in a bowling league. She also volunteered at the Nevada County Library. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and doing genealogy research.



She is survived by her husband, Eugene Windhaus of Penn Valley; daughter, Renae Windhaus Moyers of Pensacola, Fla.; son, Wayne Windhaus of Sacramento; granddaughters, Carly, Katie, and Jessica; sister, Sara Cissin of Maryland; brothers Neal, and Vernon Sauer both of Maryland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
