Evelyn Williams

Graveside services for Evelyn Williams will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley. A reception will follow at the Nevada City Christian Fellowship, 12262 Sutton Way in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, March 9, at Serra Convalescent Hospital in Milbrae. She was 89.

She was born June 24, 1915, in Providence, R.I., to John and Molly Cregan. She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1932, and from Santa Barbara State College in 1936. She married Robert D. Williams in 1937, in Santa Barbara. She worked for St. Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara for 20 years and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for 10 years as a medical transcriber. She enjoyed acting and watercolor.



She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law John and Mary Lou Williams, and Bob and Susie Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and Dan Ruiz; daughter, Ellen Zelinki; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
