Evelyn Walberg

A memorial service and celebration of life for Evelyn Margaret Walberg of Lake of the Pines Ranchos will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Calvary Chapel Grass Valley, Highway 49 at Wolf and Combie roads.

Mrs. Walberg died Thursday, June 17, at Hilltop Manor Convalescent Hospital in Grass Valley. She was 86.

She was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to Nels and Olga Johnson. She was the second of three daughters. She married the Rev. Samuel E. Walberg May 9, 1942, and ministered with him for 50 years within 10 congregations until their retirement. She received her high school education at the Academy of The Evangelical Free Church Bible Institute and Seminary of Chicago. Her premedical studies were at Wheaton College in Illinois. She attended nursing school at The Covenant Hospital of Chicago, graduating in 1941, and received her R.N. certificate from the state of Illinois Jan. 28, 1942.



She is survived by her husband, Samuel; daughter, Donna Ruth Rosenberg of Florida; son, Daniel Walberg of Auburn; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.




Memorial contributions may be made to the benefit of missions through Calvary Chapel.
