Eva Townsend

Eva Mae Townsend, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Grass Valley.

No services are planned.

Mrs. Townsend was born in New Orleans, La., to E. Ross and Cleo Jane Wilkinson and raised in Palatka, Fla. She moved at an early age to Los Angeles with her family. She married Duncan Clayton “Bing” Townsend in Los Angeles. She was active in PTA, Little League, charitable activities and innumerable school programs. She was an accomplished artist and interior decorator. She was known for her seasonal holiday decor and handmade ornamentation for Dingus McGee’s.

She is survived by her sons William G. and Robert D. Townsend; grandsons Brian A. and Matthew C. Townsend; great-grandson, Clayton Townsend; daughter-in-law, Terri Townsend; brothers Bill and Ernie Wilkinson; niece, Nancy Jane; and nephews Tom, Don, Ross and Jim Wilkinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan Clayton “Bing” Townsend.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels.
