Eugene Green

Eugene B. Green, 97, of Grass Valley died Friday, April 8, at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. His ashes will be scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Green was born May 3, 1907, in Dawson, Ga., to Joseph and Martha (Ward) Green. He married Mattie Lou Posey on April 6, 1932, in Phoenix City, Ala. He served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years as a chief warrant officer. He retired from the Navy in 1957 in Bremerton, Wash., and returned to Vallejo, where he lived until his wife’s death in 1988.



He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Bob Williams of Penn Valley and Patricia and Don Heide of Helena, Mont.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lou Green; and son, Larry Eugene Green.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
