Entertainment choices abound

I never realized just how rich and diverse in talent this county is until I started sitting at this desk. Now I’m in awe.

My guess is that if we listed all events that fall loosely under the rubric of entertainment that are happening on a given day, it would take a full page of the Prospector. That would mean seven pages of nothing but listings for a week. No photos, no ads, not much white space. It’s almost an embarrassment of riches.

Problem might be, however, that if we were to see in one place all the choices we had, say on a Tuesday, our minds would go tilt.

Choice for most people, though, seems to be a good thing. The Prospector is trying to give you as much choice as possible. From the response so far, it seems to be welcome.

Any other ideas out there?

Hope this doesn’t get too boring, but to reiterate about sending in story material for the Prospector: e-mail the press release at least a couple weeks in advance to pamj@theunion.com. We love to receive pictures, too. The drill on that is to e-mail the photo(s) in a jpg format, 150 dpi, and please make sure the image is large, like 4 x 6 or larger “this e-mail should come to pamj@theunion.com with a cc to cynthiar@theunion.com. She’s our wonderful copy editor who works with photos inside the Prospector. If your e-mail contains both press release and jpg image, send it to both of us and we’ll divy it up. Please include captions for photos so that we know who is in it and what it is about.

While we’re giving kudos, Kim is the person who creates our artistic covers, and Dixie Redfearn is the final editor, amongst many others things.
