Employers, be polite please

Employers are, and have been for too many years, practicing impolite behavior towards job seekers. I understand not replying to each application received but after an interview it’s just rude not to spend 15 seconds to call and state the job has been filled.

Also, why do you insist on hiding behind P.O. Boxes, e-mails and fax numbers which give no clue as to who you are? You want our personal information yet are unwilling to share what firm you are a part of. It lessens my respect or trust immediately. Also, I don’t know what to emphasize in my resume and work history. Only because I am seeking work do I reluctantly answer these ads.

Then, if an application is filled out, you want more personal data when there is a strong possibility the applicant will never be contacted. I leave blank spaces for Social Security Number, references, and California Drivers License. If pushed, I transpose numbers. If I’m not invited for an interview, you do not need to be doing a background search on me beforehand.

Would you like it if I insisted on doing it to you? I might discover I have no desire to work with you based on the same data.

I have nothing to hide but privacy is important to everyone.

Do to others as you would like to have done to you. Think about it, please.
