Empire Toastmasters

Empire Toastmasters had a lively beginning Feb. 10 when President Sue Schwarz asked members to introduce themselves with a song – love it or hate it – they just couldn’t get out of their mind. Delightful guest Christina Ivazes also participated.

Speeches included Dian Schaffhauser’s heartfelt talk on the right for all people to marry and George Berrier’s humorous stories highlighting “what men will do to get a woman’s attention.” Katie B. Goode’s speech about hypnotherapy and myths that surround it earned her the trophy for Best Speaker while Jacob Griscom’s clever use of words won the Best Table Topics award. Jim Cunningham got the nod for Best Evaluator for his review of Schaffhauser’s talk.

Come join the fun next week when Empire Toastmasters moves for one week only to the Sierra Nevada Children’s Services at 256 Buena Vista St., Suite 110 in Grass Valley. For more information, call Robin Lloyd at 274-7181.
