Emma Dockter

Graveside services for Emma G. (Gienger) Dockter of Nevada City will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Bible Church in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Dockter died Saturday, Dec. 21, at home. She was 99.



She was born on Nov. 28, 1903, in Leola, S.D. She had been a resident of Escalon since 1931, until moving to Nevada City 17 years ago. She was a homemaker. She attended Calvary Bible Church in Grass Valley. She enjoyed fishing and traveling.

She is survived by her sons Harold Dockter of Escalon and Alvin Dockter of Fremont; daughter, Pauline Catron of Nevada City; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.




She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Dockter, in 1983.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945 or St. John’s Lutheran Church, 120 West St., Oakdale 95361.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon.
