Effie Vaughn

A funeral service for Effie Vaughn of Grass Valley will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Grass Valley. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Grass Valley.

Mrs. Vaughn died Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the age of 79.

She was born June 15, 1923, in Mena, Ark., to Marlin and Zora Goodman. She attended school in Glenwood, Ark., and married Melford Vaughn on March 22, 1941. She was a homemaker and an ordained minister. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning and ministering to people.



Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Barbara Vaughn of Gold Run; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Joe Tellam of Grass Valley; grandchildren Bob Vaughn of Alta and Tanya Vaughn of Loma Rica; granddaughter and grandson-in law, Sherry and Jim Chargin of Nevada City; great-granddaughter, Brenna Chargin of Grass Valley; sisters Vera Hicks of Live Oak, Ruby Reinman of Texas, Amiee Pinkerton of Tennessee and Violet Burke of Tennessee; brother, Merriel Goodman of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1987; brother, Morris Goodman; and sister, Mageline Baker.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
