Edward Wills

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City for Edward Wills. A Rosary will follow at 6 p.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Nevada City. A celebration of Christian Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at St. Canice Catholic Church. Mr. Wills passed away July 19 in Woodland. He was 57.

Mr. Wills was born Jan. 21, 1950, to Marie Miller Wills and William Bernard Wills in Berkeley. He graduated in 1968 from special education at Gold Flat School and between 1974 and 1999 was employed by the Nevada County Workshop. He enjoyed juggling, friends and relaxation.

Mr. Wills is survived by sisters Mary Helen Sawyers of Gerber, Fran Latham of Yakutat, Alaska, Rose Wills of Santa Barbara and Rita Wills of Foresthill; brothers Paul Wills of Hyampom, Willy Wills of Eureka, Tony Wills of Hyampom and David Wills of Nevada City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1977 and mother in 2003. Mr. Wills will be buried at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the FREED Center for Independent Living.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
