Nevada County library prepares to ‘Purge the Pergola’

The first week in May marks the last week of the pergola that decorates the front of the Madelyn Helling Library, according to a release.

Patrons and the public are invited to the Purge the Pergola Party on May 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the front area of the library. Markers will be provided and participants will be encouraged to record their favorite memories and moments at the library on the pergola before it is gone.

The party will be recorded with the new 360-degree cameras for an unforgettable experience. Drop in and say farewell to the old façade of the library and help library staff welcome the new look.

For more information, visit the events calendar at or call 530-265-7050.
