Education combats extremism

Recently, I read an interesting article about the prospect of Pakistan succeeding at ridding its country of extremists using the military.

The article was pessimistic because the military is growing weary of losing lives to kill its countrymen, primarily at the behest of the United States.

Many Pakistanis think extremism and poverty can be cured permanently and peacefully with appropriate education and sustainable development

I fully agree and for two years have been busy traveling to Pakistan, researching how to implement such a vision. Pakistan’s problems will not be solved by donating to your favorite international charity. There is a growing animosity in Pakistan toward these charity/bureaucracies because they become top-heavy and do not build on existing assets. True sustainable development requires building trust and friendship by listening, leading and forward thinking.

We have formed a small group in Pakistan called Little World!, with the idea of implementing this strategy. We have one school in operation and another on the way. The expense is not high. Money is not needed, but commitment and clarity are. I hope more people will have the time, courage and heart to join. They can contact me at
