Edith Blake

Edith Blake was laid to rest Feb. 28 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Blake was born in 1924 to Fidel and Maria Luisa Marquez in Colorado. She moved to San Francisco when she was 16 and spent most of her life in the Bay Area – in San Francisco, Redwood City, Los Gatos and Milpitas. She moved to Grass Valley in 2004.

Mrs. Blake was known as an expert ballroom dancer and had a sweet disposition. She is survived by her daughter, Valleri Wilhelm; brother, Ray Marquez of Paruhmp, Nev.; and grandsons Ben and Blake Wilhelm of Nevada City. Her grandsons say that she was the sweetest grandmother on earth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Blake.
