Earthquake hits Lake Tahoe area

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Tahoe area at 3:08 p.m. on Thursday.
The quake was centered about three miles north of Dollar Point and half a mile beneath the ground, according to the United States Geological Survey.
A series of faults runs through the Tahoe Basin including one that runs directly underneath Dollar Point.
