Earl Erickson

Private family services for Earl C. Erickson will be conducted.

Mr. Erickson died Saturday, Dec. 28, at a local medical facility. He was 88.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1914, in Black Water, N.D., to John and Emily Erickson. He attended the University of North Dakota and on July 10, 1940, was admitted as an attorney and counselor of the Supreme Court of North Dakota. He served as prosecuting attorney for the state and during World War II worked for the federal government in Salt Lake City and San Francisco. He moved to Nevada City in 1948. He was manager of Inter County Title Company for 28 years. He was a member of the Nevada Lodge No. 13 F&AM, the Nevada City Elks Lodge and the Nevada City Rotary Club. He enjoyed hiking, gardening and furniture refinishing.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Erica; daughters and sons-in-law Earlene and A. Lee Johnson and Carol A. and Dr. Jeffrey Frost; son and daughter-in-law, John and Patricia Erickson; sister, Grace Kerzmann; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mabel Miller, Estelle Miller and Irene Erickson; brother, Buddy Erickson; and son, James Erickson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nevada City Elks Lodge or the Shriners Hospital in Sacramento.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
