Drew Reynolds to be honored at UPS office

UPS workers will be hoisting a flag in Drew Reynolds’ honor Thursday.

Grass Valley UPS supervisor Greg Deppe said the flag-raising will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the UPS Grass Valley offices, 12025 Charles Drive. A plaque memorializing Reynolds, who died in a traffic accident one year ago, is scheduled to be placed at the offices soon as well.

Reynolds died in a traffic accident as he was delivering packages along his route, which included the area near the Nevada County Airport.

He was one of 75 employed by the UPS facility.

“A lot of drivers are very interested in what we were going to do (Thursday),” said Deppe. “A lot of us can’t believe it’s been a year already.”

Reynolds, 34, was a UPS driver from 1992 until his death.

Deppe said a moment of silence would be observed in Reynolds’ honor.

“He was a good man and certainly had a huge impact on our small town,” Deppe said.
