Douglas Hirst

Private services for Douglas H. Hirst of Grass Valley will be conducted.

Mr. Hirst died Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He was 83.



He was born on May 31, 1919, in Los Angeles to Joseph R. Hirst and Estelle E. Schweikhard. He graduated from high school and attended apprentice school as a dental technician for two years. He married Dorothy Gibbs on June 30, 1944, in Pasadena. He owned a dental lab. He enjoyed fishing and photography.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hirst of Grass Valley; sons Rick Hirst of Grass Valley and Paul and Larry Hirst, both of Penryn; daughter, Kathy Peart of Loomis; grandsons Brian and Steven Peart, both of Loomis; and granddaughter, Jenni Specht of Sacramento.




Memorial contributions may be made to AnimalSave Thrift and Treasure in Grass Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
