Dorothy Whitecotton

Private services for Dorothy Whitecotton of Grass Valley will be conducted.

Mrs. Whitecotton died Tuesday, Feb. 14, in Grass Valley. She was 86.

She was born April 28, 1919, in Thomas, Okla., to A.T. and Clara Jacobs. She married William Hidreth in Fresno in 1937, and Frank Whitecotton at Lake Tahoe in 1974. She worked for Friden’s Calculators and was a supervisor for Xerox Corp. She enjoyed sewing and reading.



She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Cliff Hookins of Chico; daughter, Shirley Hildreth of Grass Valley; granddaughters Jessica Deal of Merced, and Deborah DeMauro of Orange; grandsons Geoffrey Hookins of Turlock, and Kenneth DeMauro of Orange; brother, Harry Jacobs of Tulsa, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands William Hildreth in 1967, and Frank Whitecotten in 2002.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
