Dorothy Soldat

Dorothy E. Soldat, 83, of Grass Valley died Friday, March 4, at Quail Ridge in Grass Valley.

No services are planned.

She was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Chicago, Ill., to Carl and Ann Newberg. After the death of her mother, she was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Ernie and Ruth Johnson. She married Tom Soldat on Dec. 27, 1941, in Illinois. She had lived in Scottsdale, Ariz., for 54 years before moving to Grass Valley. She enjoyed stitchery, crafts, reading and fishing.



She is survived by her daughters Carole Peplowski of Grass Valley, and Laurie Soldat of Okanogan, Wash.; sons Thomas Soldat of Mesa, Ariz., Robert Soldat of Omak, Wash., and Jonathan Soldat of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Soldat; and son, Danny Soldat.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
