Dorothy Rhoads

Services for Dorothy Marie Rhoads of Grass Valley will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley. Graveside services will follow at Greenwood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Rhoads died Monday, Feb. 2, in Grass Valley. She was 87.

She was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Proctor, Vt., to Severus and Agda Westin. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II. She had a bachelor’s degree in public health nursing. She married Russell Rhoads on July 15, 1949, in Denver, Colo. She was a registered nurse. She enjoyed crafts, travel, and music.



She is survived by her husband, Russell Rhoads of Grass Valley; daughters Linda Cotten of Auburn, Marilyn Corso of Grass Valley, and Barbara Bramham of Rohnert Park; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento 95812.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
