Visitation for family and friends of Dorothea “Dottie” Marie Mitchell of Penn Valley will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Holycross Memorial Services in Yuba City. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Sutter Cemetery in Yuba City. Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Penn Valley Community Church on Spenceville and Indian Springs roads. Pastor Keith Wells will officiate the services. A reception will follow.

Mrs. Mitchell died Sunday, May 9, at Rideout Hospital in Marysville. She was 34.

She was born Aug. 26, 1969, in Escondido. She graduated from Yuba College in 1997 with a business associate degree. She was a homemaker. She had been a resident of the Yuba Sutter area for 14 years and of Penn Valley for seven years. She was a member of the Penn Valley Community Church, where she was a sign language interpreter.

She is survived by her husband, David Mitchell of Penn Valley; daughter, Sheena Mitchell of Penn Valley; sons Adam, Joshua and David L. Mitchell, all of Penn Valley; stepdaughter, Jailee Garfias of Marysville; father, LeRoy Flagor of Yuba City; mother, Margaret Flagor of Marysville; brothers Anthony Flagor of St. Maries, Idaho, and Robert Flagor of Catoosa, Okla.; grandmother, Dorothea Goff of Marysville; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Uganda Orphans Relief Fund, c/o Penn Valley Community Church, P.O. Box 360, Penn Valley 95946. Arrangements are under the direction of Holycross Memorial Services, Inc. in Yuba City.
