Donald Laymance

Graveside services for Donald Eugene Laymance of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Laymance died Sunday, Dec. 30, at home. He was 78.

He was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Durant, Okla., to David M. and Jennie M. Laymance. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-45. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He married Lorene Moore Dec. 3, 1951, in Reno.



He worked as a welder’s assistance. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene L. Laymance of Grass Valley; daughters Charlotte M. Phelps of Grass Valley and Dona Laymance and Marilyn M. Jones, both of Oroville; son, Mike Laymance of Grass Valley; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
