Dolli Melanie brings European sounds to Grass Valley

Grass Valley native Dolli Melanie performs songs she has written with five different electronic music composers from Vienna, Austria, where she now lives Sunday at The Center for the Arts.

Melanie offers a unique vocal and performing experience for these new to the modern sounds of Europe.

Having performed abroad for a good portion of her creative life, she says her inspiration for writing comes from a life lived on the edge and observing and delving deep into the reasons of why. Her CDs include “Return of the Punk Monk” with Manni Montana.

Melanie’s special guest, Tilden Thorne, a long-time resident of Nevada City, performs an eclectic collection of his down tempo electro compositions in his darkly underground style.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. performance are $10 and are sold at the door only.
