Developer money for Diaz

At a recent debate between the candidates for District 1 Supervisor, I learned some eye-opening information. These are the facts based on Olivia Diaz’s campaign financial statements:

FACT: Olivia Diaz accepted two donations from the lead planner of the Kenny Ranch Development totaling $450.

FACT: Olivia Diaz accepted a donation from a paid consultant for Carville Sierra Inc., the developer of Loma Rica Ranch, in the amount of $999. She also accepted a donation from this man’s wife in the amount of $995.

These three contributions totaling $2,444 are from three individuals heavily involved with two proposed developments in western Nevada County.

What is amazing about these facts is that Ms. Diaz said she would not take money from developers and has been saying that her opponent, Nate Beason, is in the pocket of the big developers. However, Mr. Beason has taken no contributions from developers.

We have some cold hard facts on which to assess these two candidates. I know for sure that I will be voting for Nate Beason, a man of the highest integrity, one I can count on to say what he means, and to mean what he says.
