Designer stages ‘Elements of Life’

If you’ve admired the hair styles and makeup during any of the Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra (CATS) productions over the past 13 years – ranging from contemporary looks to period to Japanese kabuki, to Chinese Beijing opera – then you might be interested in attending a multimedia show that showcases the creativity of Sara Quay. Together with her business partner, Arnel, who is a celebrity makeup artist, Quay has formed a new business, which stages a show, “The Elements of Life.” Twenty local actors, models, artists, singers and dancers fuse their artistry in a demonstration of how art, design and inner beauty create the expressions of life itself.

Grass Valley Taiko and Sierra Salsa are supporting guest performers at this show, which will debut at the Grass Valley Elk’s Lodge, 109 S. School St., at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for $30, which include dinner, are available at Quay Hair Salon, 103 Bank St., Grass Valley or by calling (530) 274-7272.

The business that the two have created is named Fashion Dell’Arte; its primary mission is to take this show to major cosmetology conventions nationwide, building on the already substantial reputation of Quay and Arnel in the industry.
