Della Cowan

Graveside services for Della Cowan of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Elm Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Cowan died Thursday, Nov. 14, at home. She was 89.



She was born Aug. 15, 1913, in Chino to William and Bertha Chormicle. She married Harold Cowan in July 1933.

She was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening and cooking.




She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Verna and Lyndell Divine of Grass Valley; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dorothy Cowan of Auburn; brothers, Edwin Chormicle of Arizona and Les Chormicle of Grass Valley; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son Raymond Cowan; sister, Christine Jenkins; brother, Kenneth Chormicle; and grandson, Edgar Cowan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
