Dawn Lester

Memorial services for Dawn Rene Lester of Sacramento will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Ms. Lester died Friday, Feb. 20, in Sacramento. She was 33.

She was born Aug. 19, 1970, in San Leandro to Philip and Maureen Lester. She graduated from San Lorenzo High School and attended Yuba College. She worked in health care and a variety of office-work positions. She enjoyed horses.

She is survived by her son, Roderick Bell of Hayward; father and stepmother, Philip and Ellen Lester of Penn Valley; mother and stepfather, Maureen and Ron Shaw of San Leandro; grandfather, Mark Markovich of San Leandro; grandmother, Janette Miksch of Penn Valley; brothers Jeff Lester of Los Angeles, Dave Lester of Santa Cruz, and Andy and Mike Shaw, both of Oakland; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Independent Living Readiness Program of Sacramento.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
