David Menefee

Memorial services for David R. Menefee of Nevada City will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Nevada City Elks Lodge.

Mr. Menefee died Thursday, Feb. 23, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He was 57.

He was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to James Menefee and Sara Ann (Cutshall) Menefee. He owned and operated Grass Valley Hearing Aid Center. He was a member of the Nevada City Elks Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, deep sea fishing, and was a Harley Davidson rider.

He is survived by his daughters and their spouses Diane Wheeler of Placerville, Kim Skabelund of Mesa, Ariz., and Jennifer Shelton of Mesa, Ariz.; sons and their spouses Gary Menefee of Rocklin, and James Menefee of Grass Valley; brothers Michael Menefee of San Francisco, and Jack Menefee; aunt, Barbara Englehart of Indiana; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, or the Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
