Mr. Hermosillo died Saturday, July 31, in Grass Valley. He was 50

He was born Jan. 26, 1954, in Los Angeles to Oscar and Amelia (Molly) Hermosillo. He attended some college and trade school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1975. He was a chef for 15 years with private and Hilton hotels. He married Birdie on July 26, 2004, in Grass Valley. He enjoyed gardening, stained glass, crafts, fishing and cooking.

He is survived by his wife, Birdie Hermosillo of Auburn; daughters Analia Hermosillo of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Stacy Davis Blalock of Roseville; son, Jonathan Hermosillo of New York; parents Oscar and Amelia (Molly) Hermosillo of Terra Bellia; brothers Oscar Hermosillo Jr. of Covina, Al Hermosillo of Oklahoma, Nick Hermosillo of Kentucky and Danno of Tahoe; sister, Alex “Peg” Thomas of Southern California; cousins David and Corine Watson of Grass Valley; grandson, Steven Davis of Roseville; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Memorial contributions may be made to the David Hermosillo Memorial, P.O. Box 5410, Auburn 95604.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
