David Brown

Private graveside services for David C. Brown of Grass Valley will be conducted Tuesday at Sierra Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mr. Brown died Tuesday, Feb. 14. He was 87.



He was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Seattle, Wash. His family moved to Southern California when he was a child and he lived most of his life in Pasadena. He was a tool and die maker working 46 years at Scott Aviation (formerly Sierra Engineering Co.) in Sierra Madre. He moved to Grass Valley in 1996. He resided at Sierra View Manor in Grass Valley for the past eight years.

He is survived by his brother, Tim Brown of Aberdeen, Idaho; son, Douglas D. Brown of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; daughter, Gwen Duffy of Roseburg, Ore.; granddaughter, Shaley Hunt of Juneau, Alaska; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jean in 1997.




Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, 95945.
