David Bowes

David Michael Bowes died Oct. 25, 2007, from a brain aneurysm at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nev. He was 40.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m., Nov. 7, at Montbleu Resort in South Lake Tahoe.

Mr. Bowes was born Aug. 4, 1967, in San Jose to Robert and Mavourneen Bowes. His family moved to Nevada City when he was 10 years old.



He graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1985 and attended Sacramento State University. He lived in South Lake Tahoe for the past 19 years, where he was employed by Montbleu Resort.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and hiking, and he was an avid sports fan.




He is survived by his parents, Robert and Mavourneen Bowes of Nevada City; sister, Kathleen Bowes of Nevada City; grandmother, Irene Cameron of Grass Valley; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

People in the South Lake Tahoe area who knew Mr. Bowes called him “SuperDave” and recall how he touched many lives.

A memorial fund has been established in his name at Citizen’s Bank in Nevada City.
